If I’m being honest, luxury cruises used to feel like something other people did. The idea of being stuck on a big ship with 4,000 strangers? No thanks.
But here’s what I’ve learned: when you take the right kind of cruise, it’s one of the most relaxing, low-stress ways to see the Caribbean. Especially for couples who want a trip that’s easy, beautiful, and still feels a little indulgent.
You unpack once. Wake up in a new destination every morning. And you never have to wonder where to eat or how to get to your next stop. It’s all taken care of.
For a lot of the couples I work with, that’s a game changer.
Here are three places I always get excited to include when I’m helping clients plan their cruise itinerary. These spots aren’t just pretty—they’re interesting. And they each offer something special you don’t get just anywhere.
Luxury Cruises to Dominica
Okay, if you’re into nature, this is your island.
I love that Dominica hasn’t been overdeveloped. You don’t go there for beach clubs or shopping—you go for jungle hikes, natural hot springs, and the kind of views that make you stop and stare. It’s peaceful, a little wild, and honestly, one of my favorite islands in the Caribbean.
If you book the right excursion, you can hike to a waterfall in the morning, soak in a hot spring after lunch, and still be back on the ship in time to watch the sunset with a drink in hand. I’ve done it. It’s amazing.
Martinique
This one has such a cool vibe. It’s French-Caribbean, which means there’s croissants and espresso in the morning, but still that laid-back island rhythm all day.
What I love about Martinique is that it feels a little bit off the radar. It’s got history, color, culture, great food—and the kind of little towns you just want to wander through. If you like a mix of exploring and relaxing, this is a really fun one.
It’s also a great stopf for private guides. I usually recommend a half-day cultural tour followed by a long lunch with a view. No rushing. Just enjoy it.
St. Kitts Luxury Cruises
St. Kitts is what I call an “easy yes” island. It’s beautiful, not too crowded, and just the right size to explore without feeling like you missed something.
There’s this old railway tour that loops you around the island, and it’s such a fun way to see everything without lifting a finger. Or if you’re in the mood for beach time, I’ll usually recommend taking the quick ferry over to Nevis for a quiet afternoon away from it all.
It’s a great balance between doing and not doing—which is how I think most good vacations should feel.
A Quick Note About Cruising
Not every cruise is created equal. I don’t recommend the big-box party boats with 17 waterslides and an all-you-can-eat buffet every five feet. I recommend smaller ships, better service, and itineraries that feel a little more thought-out.
When I help my clients plan a cruise, we talk through your style. Do you want quiet mornings and room service? Or are you up early, ready to get off the ship and explore? Do you like dressing up for dinner or keeping it casual? That all matters. And it makes a big difference in how the trip feels.
When it’s done right, cruising can be incredibly peaceful. And if you’re looking for a way to see several islands without hopping through airports or packing and unpacking, it’s hard to beat.
Thinking this might be a good fit? Let’s chat.
You don’t have to know what ship or itinerary you want. That’s what I’m here for. I’ll ask you the same kind of questions I ask on every consultation call—what kind of vibe you’re after, how you like to travel, and what your ideal day looks like.
And then I’ll take it from there.
