Ready to make your vacation dreams a reality?
Are you looking to plan a destination wedding and can’t wait to experience an all-inclusive resort in Mexico or the Caribbean with your closest friends and family? Your destination wedding truly is so much more than just a day. The opportunity to vacation and connect with the people that matter most in your life while celebrating, as you say ‘I do,” is magical.
So when should you start planning your Destination Wedding?
As far out as possible, we recommend booking your destination wedding eighteen months to two years in advance.
Many of the best resorts for a destination wedding begin accepting wedding contracts three years in advance! For couples needing a weekend wedding date, finding availability tends to be challenging if you want to travel in less than eighteen months.
Here are a few reasons why planning your destination wedding eighteen months to two years in advance is the best approach:
Date Selection
Many all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean are and book up quickly, especially during peak season. Some of our favorite properties will only allow one wedding per day! By starting your planning eighteen months to two years in advance, you’ll have a better chance of securing the date you want for your wedding.
Room Block
Securing a room block for your guests is crucial when planning a destination wedding. A room block will allow you to guarantee a certain number of rooms for your guests at a discounted rate making it easier for your loved ones to join you in paradise. Securing your room block in advance means it is less likely for your dream resort to have limited availability.
Package Rates
All-inclusive resort wedding packages include various services such as ceremony and reception venues, catering, and activities, and these rates typically increase annually. Planning 18 months to 2 years out allows you to lock in rates before they increase.
Guest’s Availability
Giving your guests enough time to plan and save for your destination wedding is essential. Eighteen months to two years in advance allows them to make travel arrangements, request time off work, and budget accordingly.
Suppose you cannot plan your destination wedding 18 months to two years in advance; no worries. We have worked with couples that wanted to get married sooner and have a shorter timeline, and we helped them pull off fantastic destination weddings!
Planning your destination wedding as far as possible will provide you with the best experience. Allowing you to select the date you want, secure a room block, lock in package rates before they increase, and ensure that your guests have enough time to plan ahead and save so they can attend your wedding.
