Dickenson Bay & Runaway Beach
Home of the “World’s Most Romantic Resort,” Sandals Grande Antigua is situated on the island’s most famous beach.
Dickenson Bay is nestled in the northwestern corner, along with many other all-inclusive resorts.
Dickenson’s neighbor, Runaway Beach, is much less crowded and perfect for horseback riding.
Nearby is one of the best restaurants on the island, Papa Zouk.
Its hidden gem of a seafood joint is known for its “Fish and Rum.”
Carrying 250 selections of rum, the food is accompanied by the illustrious sounds of zouk music.
This popular hangout is sure to quench your thirst after a long day in the sun.
West Coast
Traveling along the west coast of the island, you will find Jolly Beach, Coco Beach, and Valley Church Beach.
Cocobay Resort on Coco Beach happens to house a Mediterranean restaurant and one of Travel Channel’s Top 10 Places to eat in Antigua.
Sheer Rock takes pride in only serving line-caught fish, baking their bread and desserts from scratch.
If you are looking for a fine dining beachfront experience, travel down to their sister restaurant, Catherine’s Cafés.
This restaurant is also on the top 10 list. It is located south of the island on Pigeon Beach, where the waters are shallow and calm.
This beach is a perfect mix of tourists and locals.
Southern Coast
If you are up for the hilly terrain, along the central southern coast are Rendezvous Bay and Doigs Beach.
These quiet beaches will be worth the trip.
You should not feel confined by the beaches neighboring your hotel.
Remember, it is only up to a 45 -minute drive from the northern part of the island to the southern beaches on this 13 -mile wide island.
Though you may not be able to visit a year’s worth of beaches during your stay, these beaches are a great starting point.
